As a stepping stone towards obtaining your SAMTRAC certificate, Introduction to SAMTRAC will provide learners with the ability to understand the fundamentals of HSE-related legislation and legal compliance as well as the ability to apply the techniques for hazard identification and risk assessment.
The course is aimed at those individuals who will be responsible for the safety and protection of people working at heights where there is a risk of injury from a fall. The course will equip learners with the necessary knowledge, skills and understanding to develop fall protection plans for people working at height, required by the Occupational Health and safety act (Act 85 of 1993).
The flagship course in occupational health and safety management, SAMTRAC provides the learner with the technical knowledge of concepts, issues, procedures and techniques relating to HSE. Upon completion of the course, the successful learner will have a sound understanding of environmental management systems (EMS) and a methodology for their implementation. The learner will understand how management systems can assist their organisation in reaching its strategic goals and mitigate the risks associated with ineffective management of safety, health and environment (HSE) related issues. ISO 45001: 2018 will assist their organisation in keeping its workers healthy and safe. ISO 14001: 2015 will help ensure that the impact of their organisation’s activities on the environment is effectively managed.
A two-hour webinar workshop curated to a company’s specific workplace procedures. Businesses are required to complete a questionnaire, which forms a baseline of existing procedures, from which the individual induction programmes are then presented. Employees gain a greater understanding of the new way of work within the context of COVID-19.

In addition learners will be able to identify any deviations and workplace safety performance in the workplace from health, safety and environmental requirements and be able to ensure that the correct action is taken in situations where safety health and environmental issues are not in accordance with requirements.
