Working at Height Safety Training & Practical Skills
Working at heights training aims to provide learners with the required skills to reduce accidents when working at heights, be able to perform rescues and work in confined spaces.
The course will enable the learner to understand and perform a range of advanced fall arrest rescues while maintaining the safety and protection of people while working at height, where there is a risk of injury from a fall.
This course is intended for rescue personnel who are expected to undertake emergency rescues as part of their duties to enter confined spaces. Learners will be able to perform rescue operations in confined spaces by applying safe working practices and first-aid principles to rescue victims from confined spaces.
Learners wishing to acquire the competencies in this course will be, individuals working at height where there is a risk of injury from a fall. Learners will be involved in performing tasks at height. Learners will be able to follow fall arrest principles to perform work at height safely, under supervision of a qualified supervisor.
The course will equip learners with the necessary knowledge, skills and understanding in order to take responsibility for installing, using and inspecting fall arrest systems and to perform basic rescues.
This course will enable the learner to use a self-contained breathing apparatus safely (SCBA) and effectively during normal occupational health and safety assignments and emergency procedures.
The course is aimed at those individuals who will be responsible for the safety and protection of people working at heights where there is a risk of injury from a fall. The course will equip learners with the necessary knowledge, skills and understanding to develop fall protection plans for people working at height, required by the Occupational Health and safety act (Act 85 of 1993).
The course will equip learners with the necessary knowledge, skills and understanding in identifying the hazard of confined spaces and the precautions required for the safety of workers and the public.
