What are your career aspirations as a health and safety officer? Do you want to keep learning, keep moving forward, keep taking your career to the next level? If the answer is yes, then additional training is exactly what you need – a qualification that can propel you through the ranks, and allow you to become eligible for more valuable roles and more advanced promotions.

Within the health and safety industry there’s one qualification that ticks all these boxes and more. SAMTRAC.

What is SAMTRAC?

One of the most respected and recognised qualifications in health and safety, SAMTRAC is the gold standard in risk management training certification. Offering critical theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of occupational health, safety and environmental (HSE) management, SAMTRAC is an industry leading qualification, and one that could help take your health and safety career to new heights.

A division of NOSA, SAMTRAC is accredited by both the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM) and the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), and is offered as both a classroom and a webinar course.

SAMTRAC

Study for your SAMTRAC certification at any NOSA branch nation-wide, and you’ll start with the Introduction to SAMTRAC course, one that will teach you how to identify and control basic HSE hazards and risks, and fulfil the day-to-day operational duties associated with your role. From here you’ll move onto SAMTRAC, where you’ll learn how to plan, implement and maintain an HSE management system. Finally, Advanced SAMTRAC will build on your foundation of knowledge, giving you an extended qualification in HSE theory, with practical applications and a self-study assignment on HSE methodology.

As an alternative to classroom training, SAMTRAC is also available via webinar – online training of HSE-related concepts, issues, procedures and techniques, as well as development, monitoring and assessment of risk management procedures, with practical and summative assessments at the end of the course.

Why SAMTRAC?

Beyond additional training, are there any further benefits to a SAMTRAC qualification? Let’s take a look.

  • It’s internationally recognised. As part of NOSA, a provider of global health and safety training qualifications, SAMTRAC is recognised around the world, giving you more flexibility, and more career opportunities.
  • It’s highly sought-after. Providing an exceptional level of foundational and fundamental knowledge in health and safety management, SAMTRAC gives you the edge when it comes to career growth and development.
  • It’s recognised by various international institutions. As SAMTRAC is accredited by both the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM) and the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), successful completion of the qualification will allow you to apply for Technician Membership at both IOSH (TechIOSH) and Saiosh (TechIOSHSA), giving you access to even more industry recognised qualifications.
  • It’s accredited. SAMTRAC is accredited with the merSETA – the Manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services SETA – one of 21 Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETAs) founded for the promotion of skills development, in conjunction with the Skills Development Act of 1998.
