Keeping your workplace COVID-19 safe and risk-free
2020 has come and gone and yet it seems COVID-19 is here to stay. With the virus still running rampant and a second wave sweeping the globe, minimising and mitigating the associated risks in the workplace is becoming more and more crucial. As a business, are you able to understand and respond to the impact of coronavirus effectively, and how can you go about reducing its effects?
Responding to COVID-19 in the workplace
While the task at hand may seem overwhelming, there are a number of measures you can put into place in order to mitigate the risk of your environment and your employees:
Make a plan
Having an action plan in place can help you to identify risks, and respond to them effectively when they occur. Ensure that your action plan is regularly reviewed and updated, and that all your employees are aware of it, and what it entails. The more your employees and other third parties comply with your plan, the safer you all will be.
Stay safe
By now we’re all aware of the key measures that need to be taken to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 – regular sanitising, wearing masks, maintaining a social distance of at least 1.5m from each other, and so on. Now what needs to be done is ensuring that these measures are regularly enforced. Having clear policies and ongoing training in place will help to educate and inform your employees, while guaranteeing that health and compliance standards remain at the highest level at all times.
Stay informed
Make sure both you and your employees are up-to-date with the latest coronavirus information in order to keep safe and healthy. Ensure your information is gathered from only trusted sources such as government, the World Health Organisation and similar reliable news services, and ensure you stay informed of the latest developments at all times. Knowledge is power.
