NOSA Personal Information Collection Notice

Applicable to website enquiry and contact forms

Effective date: 2 November 2026

1. Who collects your information?

NOSA (Pty) Ltd ("NOSA"), registration number 2003/029513/07, and NOSA Logistics (Pty) Ltd (“NOSA Logistics”), registration number 2003/010541/07, are responsible for collecting and processing personal information submitted through the enquiry and contact forms on this website. In this notice, “NOSA”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to NOSA (Pty) and NOSA Logistics together. You can contact us using the details in section 9.

NOSA is part of the Safety SA Group. We process personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”) and the Safety SA Group Privacy Policy.

2. What information do we collect?

Depending on the form you complete, we may collect:

  • Your name and surname.
  • Email address and telephone number.
  • Company name and business contact details.
  • Number of employees or other information about your organisation.
  • Courses, training programmes or services you are interested in.
  • Details of your enquiry, request or requirements.
  • Any additional information or documents you voluntarily submit.

We collect this information directly from you when you complete a form on our website.

Please do not provide special personal information (such as information about your health, race, religious beliefs or criminal record) or information about children, unless we specifically ask for it and it is needed for your enquiry.

3. Why do we collect your information?

We use your information to:

  • Respond to your enquiry and provide the information you have requested.
  • Connect you with the appropriate NOSA sales, support or service team.
  • Provide information about relevant training programmes, auditing, consulting and other NOSA services.
  • Manage and follow up on enquiries and maintain relevant business records.
  • Analyse enquiry trends, customer interests and service demand to improve our offerings and communications.
  • Maintain and improve our website, systems and customer service.

With your consent, or where the law otherwise allows it, we may also use your information for marketing, audience segmentation and relevant digital advertising.

We process your information because it is necessary to respond to your enquiry or take steps you have asked for, because it is in our legitimate business interests, or because you have given your consent.

4. Who may receive your information?

Your information may be accessed by authorised NOSA employees and Safety SA Group personnel where this is needed to respond to your enquiry or manage related business activities.

We also share information with service providers who process it on our behalf (called “operators” under POPIA), including:

  • Website development, hosting and technical support providers.
  • Customer relationship management (CRM) and data storage providers.
  • Digital marketing and analytics service providers.
  • Public relations and market research agencies.
  • Advertising platforms, including Meta, LinkedIn and TikTok, where applicable and legally permitted.

We share only the information needed for the relevant purpose.

Our service providers must keep your information confidential, use it only on our instructions and apply appropriate security measures.

Where possible, we use aggregated or de-identified information for marketing and research analysis.

Where the law allows it and appropriate safeguards are in place, we may use your contact information to create advertising audiences or measure how well our campaigns perform.

We do not sell personal information.

5. Marketing communications and advertising

If you agree to receive marketing, we may email you about relevant training programmes, services, events, industry news and promotions.

We may also use your information to understand your interests and show you relevant advertising, in line with your marketing preferences and the law.

Agreeing to marketing is optional and you do not need to do so to submit an enquiry.

Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe option. You can withdraw your consent at any time by using that option or by contacting our Information Officer.

6. Storage, security and international processing

Information submitted through our website forms is stored in our website systems, including WordPress and Gravity Forms, and may be transferred to our internal systems or to authorised service providers.

Some of our service providers or technology platforms may process or store personal information outside South Africa.

We will only transfer your information outside South Africa where the recipient is bound by laws, binding corporate rules or a binding agreement that provide an adequate level of protection, or where another ground in section 72 of POPIA applies.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, damage, misuse and unauthorised access or disclosure. If we believe your information has been accessed or acquired by an unauthorised person, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as required by POPIA.

7. How long do we retain your information?

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, unless the law requires or allows us to keep it for longer.

Retention and disposal are managed under the Safety SA Group's data retention schedule. When we no longer need your information, we delete, destroy or de-identify it.

8. Is providing information compulsory?

Completing our website forms is voluntary, and no law requires you to provide this information.

However, some fields are marked as required because we need that information to identify and respond to your enquiry. If you do not complete them, we may not be able to help you.

You do not have to agree to marketing to submit an enquiry.

9. Your rights

Subject to POPIA, you have the right to:

  • Ask whether we hold personal information about you and request access to it.
  • Request correction or deletion of inaccurate, outdated or unlawfully retained information.
  • Object, on reasonable grounds, to the processing of your information.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
  • Opt out of direct marketing communications.
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.

Access requests are handled in line with POPIA and the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (PAIA). We will respond to your request within a reasonable time.
